Demetrius McClendon

Demetrius was born and raised in the south side of Chicago. He began dancing street hip-hop at age 15. Since graduating from Northern Illinois University in 2011, he has danced professionally with DanceWorks Chicago and TU Dance. He has also been a guest artist with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Twin Cities Ballet, Owen/Cox Dance, Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Minnesota Opera, Seamless Dance Theater, and the Civic Ballet of Chicago, to name a few. He embraces dance as a spiritual practice and uses the arts in conjunction with his passion for social justice to inspire revolutionary change.
